Hair care tips :-
· Always use a treated elastic hair band like a Blax, Bungee or similar, when you put your hair into a braid or ponytail. This will prevent hair breakage and loss that results from using a plain rubber band.
·Never sleep in a tight braid or ponytail. This practice may cause ongoing hair breakage and/or loss over time.
·Always carefully remove tangles from your hair with a pick or brush before shampooing. This will prevent unnecessary knots and tangles making hair much easier to dry, style and braid.
·If you plan on trying out a brand new hairstyle for a special event (e.g. wedding or prom) always plan to practice several times before the big event arrives. This will guarantee great results.
·Never brush wet hair. This guarantees breakage because hair is most fragile when wet.
·Use a good wide tooth comb or pick or your fingers to untangle your hair as you dry it. Hair should be at least 90-95% dry before brushing.
·Braid your hair while it's still damp and allow hair to aid dry while braided. This will add beautiful waves to the hair when you undo the braids.

The rice crisis

What's driving up the price of rice?
  • Unsupported agricultural researchers. Government funding has been slashed for the scientists who come up with higher yield and more durable varieties of rice.
  • Other uses of land. Farm land for rice is dwindling, competing with other uses such as urban developmentand more lucrative cash crops like wine and biofuels.
  • Higher-cost farm supplies. Price for festilisers have risen dramatically, and the cost of urea, an organic festilizer important for use in farming has nearly doubled in the last four years.
  • Environment factors. Pesticide-resistant pests and extreme weather, such as storms, droughts and floods, are constributing to the problem.
  • Profiteering rice trader and millers. Traders in some countries manipulate small cash strapped farmers by offering high-interest loans, or supplies such as seeds and festilizer, against a set price for the harvested rice.
  • Budget-strapped govermments. Government stockpile rice for ermergency uses, and as a way to intervene in the market to keep prices down.
  • Hoarding retailers. Wholesalers, retailer, and exporters hoard stocks of rice at time of speculate on increasing price.
  • Bigger demand. More people in more countries are consuming rice, including in africa, which now consumer one-third of the world's total trade in rice, and the prosperous middle east.

Ketupat

The ketupat is a popular and favorite food, sometimes categorized as a dumpling, prepared and offered during the festivals of Hari Raya Aidil Fitri and Aidil Adha.
It is a simple dumpling made from rice, and is normally eaten with a somewhat sweet and sometimes slightly spicy peanut sauce or gravy, known as kuah kacang or kuah sate.
Ketupat is something like nasi himpit (or nasi kapit) except that the rice is boiled and compacted through the use of coconut leaves that has been woven in the shape of a square.
Usually, we say ketupat, it is normally referred to the nasi or rice version. Another version is the ketupat palas or pulut which is made of glutinous rice and is triangular shaped. It is cooked in a triangular-shaped receptacle or pouch made from leaves of "palas" or fan palms (licuala), hence its name.

Balik Kampung Phenomenon

In Malaysia, the Malays living in the towns usually go back to their hometown or kampung to celebrate Aidil Fitri. This migration from big urban cities to rural areas is known as the "Balik Kampung" phenomenon in Malaysia.
And it is so because it is always multiple the joys when celebrating the Hari Raya Puasa together with parents and siblings. And with two days of official holidays, it’s normally a week of celebrations.
So in the big cities like Kuala Lumpur, the last few days of Ramadan will be a time for traffic jams on the roads leading back to the home-towns and villages. It is also a time when accidents increase dramatically even with increased police monitoring and presence to deter speedsters and traffic offenders.

Ramadan Bazaar

What is Ramadan Bazaar??

Essentially just rows of stalls selling varieties of popular food and drinks for the breaking of fast, it is a quite a phenomenon and an attraction, found not only in the state of Pahang but the whole of Malaysia.
It is Malaysia's nation-wide, month-long, delightful Food Carnival and Extravaganza.
The Ramadan Bazaars (or Pasar Ramadan in Malay) are different from night market or daily market in the sense that these Ramadan Bazaars sell mostly food and drinks for the breaking of fast.
On the other hand, the weekly night markets have a mixture of light food, farm produce, clothing and knick-knack items, while Sunday markets sell mostly agricultural farm, river and sea produces for home cooking.

But researchers at Oxford Brookes University in England wondered why twice as many women as man over 65 were effected. They suspected high heel might be to blame. However,a survey of 111 womwn found those who had regularly worn 7.5 cm heels were more likely to have healthy knees- particularly if they'd danced in heels. Supplement..

STOP BEFORE YOU POP

Many of us take supplements, but we're not always doing it right. According to a US study, people with a high cholesterol, for example, were much more likely to take vitamin E than those without the disease. Yet this nutrient hasn't been proved to reduce cholestrol; it may even interfere with other treatment.

On the other hand, woman who suffer a fracture due to osteoporosis aren't any more likely to take calcium suppliment than healthy women, even through much recearch shows calcium helps. Vitamin information seems to change weekly, so talk to your doctor before taking supplement.

Headphones

Using headphones at a high volume level can cause temporary or permanent hearing impairment or deafness due to an effect called masking. The headphone volume has to compete with the background noise, especially in excessively loud places such as subway stations, airplanes, and large crowds. This leads to the disappearance of the normal pain associated with higher levels of volumes, and extended periods of the excessively loud volume is extremely damaging.

Other risks arise from the reduced awareness of external sounds is some jurisdictions regulate the use of headphones while driving vehicles, usually limiting the use of earphones to a single ear. It to ensure that drivers keep their hands on the vehicles controls.

In addition, it also will be benefits to us. It can have an ergonomic benefit over the traditional handset at office desks. They save space and many new models are wireless. They also allow call center agents to maintain good posture instead of tilting their head sideways to cradle a handset.

global warming

Nowadays, global warming is the critical point of no return. It is the term used to describe a gradual increase in the average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere and its oceans, a change that is believed to be permanently changing the Earth’s forever.

However, the increased volumes of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases released by the burning of fossil fuels, land clearing, agriculture, and other human activities, are believed to be the primary sources of the global warming that has occurred over the past 50 years.

Beside that, there are some of the effects that make global warming happened. For examples are increase the sea level, change of the agriculture shape and retreat the glasier. While many view the effects of global warming to be more substantial and more rapidly occurring than others do, the scientific consensus on climatic changes related to global warming is that the average temperature of the Earth has risen between 0.4 and 0.8 °C over the past 100 years.

Scientists from the intergovernmental panel carrying out global warming research have recently predicted that average global temperatures could increase between 1.4 and 5.8 °C by the year 2100. Changes resulting from global warming may include rising sea levels due to the melting of the polar ice caps, as well as an increase in occurrence and severity of storms and other severe weather events.

friendship

I’m very interested with article about friendship that I have read. Now, I want to share here. Friendship is a co-operative and supportive behavior between two or more beings. Many kinds of friendships and that some are limited because of societal standards and it is such a special relationship. Friends will welcome each other's person and exhibit loyalty towards each other. They will also engage in mutually helping behavior, such as exchange of advice and the sharing of hardship.

More over, a friend is someone who may often demonstrate reciprocating and reflective behaviors. For being the best friendship, they must the tendency do desire what is best for the other, sympathy and empathy, honesty, perhaps in situation where it may difficult for others to speak the truth, especially in terms of pointing out the perceived faults of one's counterpart and the mutual understanding.

Lastly, in a comparison of personal relationships and friendship is considered to be closer than association, although there is a range of degrees of intimacy in both friendships and associations. Friendship and association can be thought of as spanning across the same continuum.
